Oh I know. I've read it. I wish that the entire book would be like that...it's hilarious. Unfortunately, about halfway through the first book, Bella cuts off his balls, and that's when it gets sad.
Another thing I thought of that sucked (as if there could be more right?) There were a TON of curious things she never addressed in any of the books: How did they spend time together when she was on her period? How did all the Cullens avoid eating the idiot that skinned his knee becasue with a group of 350 teens in one place some one is bleeding. I had one more but I forgot it:< Anyway I just couldn't believe none of that was addressed. You can avoid Biology on finger prick day but you can't avoid the guy with a bloody nose after gym class.
Edward didn't hurt her when she was on her period because it probably smelled different with all her vag juice mixed in, and also because he has incredible control. The answer above also pertains to your second question. Oh, and he avoided finger-prick day to hunt, and probably to control himself. It's different having ONE scent of a hurt knee that THIRTY scents. It's like being in a house and smelling pizza cooking, and then being in a bakery and smelling all the different pastries. OH, and "Twilight" is being put in theaters NOVEMBER 21'st now [Harry Potter's old release date] instead of DECEMBER 12'th. YAY. Post edited at 6:57 pm on Aug. 17, 2008 by Jadien

I feel so left out. I haven't read these books. But since everyone is raving about them I might give it a try.

I started reading this under a friend's recommendation, and ended up going nuts and staying up til 5.30 to read it. What the hell, man?! I wasn't expecting something this (I thought) over-hyped to be actually good.
Why did you think it was good?
She has a talent for story-telling, and a unique interpretation of human interactions and myths. Not to mention, I nearly bawled my eyes out when Edward left. However, I do think it's a very generic story, in terms of basic storyline. After all, there are many "I'm a human and I fell in love with a vampire" stories. And the whole "I can read every mind except this one" isn't new either. I've already read the concept in Charlaine Harris's Southern Vampire Mysteries, but the situation was reversed.
