i've recently gotten into weed, that soothes me. although, i wouldn't reccomend this, its a terrible habit, and costs alot more than you think. i run a support group for kids just like this at my school. i'm a sophomore in columbus ohio and currently have 38 kids in this group with 6 veterans from last year. the veterans are basically my minions, and they do the same as me, but i'm the superior.
3/4 of our group is made up of musically involved kids, such as band, choir, orchestra, strings, whatever. i currently am also in band, choir, and orchestra, and have eccelled in all of the above, being section leader, student director, and first chair.
music is a great way to cope with stress, i play my saxophone, or piano, or sing out loud, and just don't care about what people say, because i am my own person, and don't take shit from anyone, shit as in harrassment, i just ignore insults and threats.
the other 1/4 is made up of mostly jocks, and non-involved kids.
everyone in this group has/had a problem similar to yours, and they are recovered/recovering from this. the best way is to find something you like and do it.
whether its bowling, dancing, drawing, xboxing, etc. you can find anything that you like to do, better than having physical or emotional pain in your life.
although, i'm not always like this, i am a very laid back person, and i love hanging out with my friends... they look. theres one right there!
anyone have any questions, drop me an e-mail
